Escaping The Price-Driven Sale

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS TRAINING?

This will benefit you, your Sales team and your organization if you are facing some of the following situations:

  1. The first topic that customers bring up when in a sales conversation is price
  2. Sales team members get “sucked” into the price-driven sales conversation and do not know how to get out of it
  3. Sales team members try to justify for the higher price charged citing reasons as product quality, value added services and so on
  4. Customers get the price reduction when they “threaten” to pass the order to a competitor unless the sales representative matches the price
  5. Sales team members reduce the price even though they may not have to for fear of losing the sales volume
  6. The sales person is not able get the customer to understand the value his product or service provides
  7. Sometimes, the sales manager over-rides the sales person who has declined to reduce price but the customers know the discretion the sales manager has and gets it from him
  8. Sales team members really BELIEVE that the customers use pricing as the only factor to make decisions
  1. Not able to command a premium price even though product/service is superior to competitors
  2. Sales personnel allow their products to be treated like a commodity
  3. Customers do not bother or care about the good technical support or customer service that they are getting—all they are interested in is the price
  4. Sales people speak as if their salaries are paid by the customers and not their employers!

How to Influence Your Boss

Unless you own your own business, you have a boss and your career success depends largely on how you influence him or her. And even if you are the CEO, you probably have to influence your board.

The skill to effectively to influence upwards is rarely natural and the cost of getting it wrong prevents many from even trying to develop their ability. Yet learning this skill is important for career development as well as organizational efficiency.

We have designed and delivered Influence Without Authority programs for companies such as Microsoft, and each time we have run our Critical Skills for Senior Managers program the topic of how to influence your boss is most popular with participants. And so due to this interest we have decided to run a dedicated half-day program in Singapore on March 22nd.

In this lively and interactive workshop you will learn how to:

  • Build your personal brand
  • Identify your bosses' ‘currencies’
  • Communicate on your boss’ wavelength
  • Get free coaching from your boss
  • Be proactive and anticipate your boss' needs
  • Get your ideas heard
  • Get a promotion or a raise

Presentation by Henderson Global Investors and iShares - Blackrock (Singapore) Limited on 28 January 2012

UOB Kay Hian cordially invites you to a presentation by Henderson Global Investors and iShares - Blackrock (Singapore) Limited on 28 January 2012.

Henderson Global Investors: "Opportunities in the Asia-Pacific Properties Market"
Whilst 2011 was a challenging year for equities, Henderson sees 2012 as continuing this theme with concerns on the global macro environment continuing to take centre stage. Focus will undoubtedly remain on the ongoing European debt crisis and its implications for a slowdown in global economic growth. Equity markets have already priced some of these implications into current valuations and Henderson would caution on being too negative. In light of these headwinds, and in response to them, Henderson would anticipate a loosening of monetary and fiscal policy. The encouraging aspects for Asian markets are that inflation is trending downwards, and that policy tools exist to tackle any further economic slowdown. Amongst this backdrop of continuing uncertainty, the characteristics of real estate equities remain firmly in place, offering exposure to the long term growth prospects of the region as well as a stable income stream and dividend yield.

iShares: "Welcome to New Thinking in Fixed-Income"
iShares will provide an overview of the Global ETF Landscape. Participants will also get a perspective of why Fixed Income is an important asset class as well as the benefits of Fixed Income ETFs. In addition, iShares will present an overview of Asia High Yield Market and conclude by sharing with investors the iShares' suite of Fixed Income ETFs. These ETFs allow investors to invest in bond markets at varying levels of risk adjusted return.

Date of Event : 28 January 2012, Saturday
Time : 10.00 am - 12.00 pm
Venue : UOB Kay Hian Auditorium

Please register your participation via www.utrade.com.sg under "Education" > "Market Strategy & Hot Stocks".

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
