There are several prata joints in the Upper Thomson area, each with its own following.<br />
Sin Ming Roti prata is no exception.<br />

Tucked
away in a coffee shop, the stall is run by the father-and-son duo of
Haji Mohammed and Al Malik Faisal, better known as Aziz and Faisal. They
have had the business for more than 15 years.<br />
Mr Faisal says: "Some of my customers go to other prata places, but in the end, they still return here."<br />
The
prata (90 cents for the plain version) is crispy on the outside and
slightly chewy on the inside. Mr Faisal says they use the traditional
method of making the prata dough.<br />
This means just involving the basics - sugar, eggs, salt and the flour.<br />
"We don't add ghee or milk," he says.<br />
The
dough is mixed and kneaded by hand, and let to rest for an hour. It is
next moulded into dough balls. Flipping the prata takes skill, which
comes from years of practise.<br />
The prata is fluffy and not oily;
there is barely a glisten of grease on the plate when we were done. If
there is a healthy version of prata , this could be it.<br />
Those
who like their prata more crispy should go for the coin prata ($3.50 for
six), which are shaped like small, thick pancakes. The dough used is
the same, but it is made differently from regular prata , says Mr
Faisal.<br />
The prata goes well with the curry gravy, that is not too watery and is slightly sweet; its spiciness really packs a punch.<br />
Mr Faisal says most people order two prata s, but one customer had 10 in one sitting some years ago.<br />
"I still get regulars who order three to four egg prata s."<br />
For those with more room in their tummies, the stall also offers other foods, such as nasi briyani and mee goreng.<br />

The gorgeous Fruit Papaya....<br />Papaya was the only studied food found to halt breast cancer.<br />Scientists studied 14 plant foods commonly consumed in Mexico to determine their ability to halt breast cancer cell growth. These included avocado, black sapodilla, guava, mango, prickly pear cactus (nopal), pineapple, grapes, tomato, and papaya.<br />They also evaluated beta-carotene, total plant phenolics, and gallic acid contents and antioxidant capacity. They found that only papaya had a significant effect on stopping breast cancer cell growth.</div>

Papaya is a store-house of cancer-fighting lycopene.<br />The intense orangey-pink colour of papaya means it is chock full of cancer fighting carotenoids. Not only beta carotene, but lycopene is found in abundance. The construction of lycopene makes it highly reactive towards oxygen and free radicals.<br />Scientists at the University of Illinois think this anti-oxidant activity contributes to its effectiveness as a cancer fighting agent. Epidemiological studies have indicated an inverse relationship between lycopene intake and prostate cancer risk. They showed that oral lycopene is highly bio available, accumulates in prostate tissue, and is localised in the nucleus of prostate epithelial cells.<br />In addition to antioxidant activity, other experiments have indicated that lycopene induces cancer cell death, anti-metastatic activity, and the up-regulation of protective enzymes. (The experiment report on cancer cells, Phase I and II studies have established the safety of lycopene supplementation in done on October 8, 2008).</div>

Prostate cancer was the subject of a study in Australia that looked at 130 prostate cancer patients and 274 hospitalized controls. In this study, green tea also exerted a powerful anti-cancer effect. When lycopene-rich foods were consumed with green tea, the combination was even more effective, an outcome the researchers credited to their synergy. Isothiocyanates found in papaya restore the cell cycle to eliminate cancer.<br />Organo-sulphur compounds called isothiocyanates are found in papaya. In animal experiments, isothiocyanates protected against cancers of the breast, lung, colon, pancreas, prostate, as well as leukaemia, and they have the potential to prevent cancer in humans. Isothiocyanates have shown themselves capable of inhibiting both the formation and development of cancer cells through multiple pathways and mechanisms. Researchers in Japan - clarified the mechanisms of action in a type of isothiocyanate found in papaya known as BITC, which underlies the relationship between cell cycle regulation and appropriate cell death. When cancerous cells die on schedule, they are no longer a problem.<br />The researchers established that BITC exerted cancer cell killing effects that were greater in the proliferating cells than in the quiescent cells. Cancer cells that are proliferating are much more dangerous than cancer cells that are in a state of dormancy. (Forum of Nutrition, 2009).</div>

Enzymes (Vinegar) from papaya digest proteins including those that protect tumours.<br />The fruit and other parts of the papaya tree, also known as the paw paw tree, contain papain and chymopapain, powerful proteolytic enzymes that facilitate chemical reactions in the body.<br />They promote digestion by helping to break down proteins from food into amino acids that can be recombined to produce protein useable by humans.<br /> </div>

Proteolytic enzymes protect the body from inflammation and help heal burns. They do a good job of digesting unwanted scar tissue both on the skin and under its surface.<br />Being a proteolytic enzyme, papain is able to destroy intestinal parasites, which are composed mostly of protein. To rid the body of intestinal parasites, half a cup of papaya juice can be alternated each hour for twelve consecutive hours with the same amount of cucumber or green bean juice.<br />Research has shown that the physical and mental health of people is highly dependent on their ability to produce proteins they can use effectively.<br /> </div>

However, as people age, they produce less of the enzymes needed to effectively digest proteins from food and free needed amino acids. People who sit at a desk all day might want to use proteolytic enzymes too. Proteolytic enzymes are able to digest and destroy the defence shields of viruses, tumours, allergens, yeasts, and various forms of fungus.</div>

Some studies have shown that calcium levels are lower in women with PMS, and that those with the highest intake of calcium reported the mildest PMS symptoms. Source your calcium from foods such as low-fat milk and dairy, calcium-fortified breakfast cereals and orange juice, and leafy greens.</span><span id="intelliTXT">

2. Don't consume excessive salt</h3>
Salt increases water retention, so if you suffer from premenstrual bloating, do limit the amount of sodium you consume in the run up to your period. 3. Do drink more water</h3>
Sounds counter-intuitive, but water can actually alleviate PMS-related fluid retention. Drink plenty of H2O -- aim for 8 to 10 glasses a day; more when you exercise -- to flush toxins out of your system and reduce premenstrual bloating.<br />

4. Do eat the good carbs</h3>

5. Do satisfy your cravings with portion control</h3>
Do you find yourself craving the sweet stuff just before your period? You're not alone! Satisfy your urge with calorie-controlled single-serving packs of your favorite treat, whether it's ice-cream, cookies, chocolate or candy bars -- it's the most effective way to manage food cravings without over-indulging.<br />

6. Don't guzzle caffeine</h3>
Some studies suggest that the effects of caffeine are magnified premenstrually, and drinking three or more cups of caffeinated beverage a day may exacerbate anxiety, irritability, nervousness and insomnia. If these side effects sound familiar, limit your coffee and tea one week prior to menstruation.<br />

7. Don't pop the soda</h3>
Laden with sugar and caffeine, fizzy soda is the double whammy women with PMS should avoid. The bubbles in carbonated drinks also make matters worse by contributing to the bloating problem.<br />

8. Do enjoy a chocolate or two</h3>
It's thought that mood swings during PMS are caused by the temporary drop in the body's natural "feel-good" hormones serotonin and dopamine. But here's the good news: Studies show that eating chocolate can have a mood-lifting effect, thanks to the natural endorphins it contains. Dark chocolate offers the most health benefits -- look for at least 70 percent cocoa -- and enjoy in moderation.<br />

You are intimidated and threatened<br />that if you do not pay up the police will be brought in. <br />If you pay up, this 'owner' lets you go. <br />If not, the police are brought in. <br /><br />Another strange thing is that there always seems <br />to be a 'witness' to your 'theft'. <br /><br />I am told this often happens to foreigners at <br />the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) <br />or even at LRT trains. <br />Given that you're 'guilty until proven innocent' <br />as far as t he Malaysian police are concerned, <br />I understand some poor people are in jail for <br />these 'offences'. <br /><br />At the KLIA, the 'owner' throws his hand-phone and <br />wallet with the few ringgit notes into the luggage <br />trolley of a just arrived passenger <br />The drama unfolds a few minutes later. </span></i><b><i><span style="color: #c20041; font-size: 24pt;"><br />The real culprit has easily convinced our Malaysian police</span></i></b><i><span style="color: black; font-size: 24pt;"> <br />to arrest the real victim (if he has not paid up the 'settlement' demand). <br />This is a very serious matter. <br /><br /><br />This is another form of extortionists operating in broad daylight. <br />They are disgusting criminals who will do anything <br />to rob and steal.
